Providing tourists with a list of countries to travel in Asia within a budget, the island nation is listed amng the top five.

“Known for its tea plantations, beaches, and ancient cities like Sigiriya, Sri Lanka is affordable for accommodation, food, and transport. Budget guesthouses start around INR 800 -1,500 per night,” the publication said in its special travel edition ‘Times Travel’.

According to the report, a tourist would need a minimum of INR 1,800 - 2,500 per day when exploring the island nation. The basis of the calculation was not mentioned.

Other countries in the list are; Vietnam, Nepal, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, and Myanmar.
