SriLankan Airlines investigating ‘incident’ on Sydney-Colombo flight Featured

SriLankan Airlines has confirmed that an investigation is currently underway in accordance with civil aviation regulations “regarding the incident on flight UL 607” from Sydney to Colombo on September 21.

The airline stated that it is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities, and that the captain of the flight has been grounded pending the outcome of the investigation.

SriLankan Airlines further emphasized that safety and compliance with all regulatory requirements remain its top priorities.

Sri Lanka's national airline grounded a captain after he locked out his female copilot when she took a toilet break during a flight from Sydney to Colombo, officials said.Sri Lanka's aviation regulator, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), had initiated an investigation.

"The airline is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities, and the captain has been grounded pending the outcome of the investigation," SriLankan Airlines said in a statement.
