Don't want to be sandwiched between China and India: New Sri Lanka President Featured

New Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the island nation would not align itself with any 'power camp' and that both India and China are valued friends.

New Sri Lankan President says ties with both India and China are important and Government will also focus on ties with EU, Middle East, Africa,

He has outlined the broad contours of his government's new foreign policy, stating that he doesn't want to be caught between India and China.

In an interview with The Monocle, Dissanayake said, "We don’t want to be sandwiched, especially between China and India. Both countries are valued friends and, under an NPP government, we expect them to become close partners."
