Gender Equality Bill inconsistent with Constitution

The Supreme Court observed that the Gender Equality Bill is inconsistant with the Constitution as a whole and

should be enacted with a two thirds majority and through a referendum, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardhane announced today.
