Its chairman Thushara Ranadeva said that the country's medical system should consis of 4000 pharmacists.He warned of a possible crisis in the health sector due to this shortage.
He said that the number of pharmacists are not proportionate to the number of hospitals in the country.
The Chairman highlited the essentiality o f pharmacists in order to effectively provide relevant medicines to patients.
He also expressed that the Ministry of Health and other held officials have failed to take adequate measures to remedy this situation.
