Incumbent of Sanchi Chetiyagiri Vihara Ven. Banagala Vimalatissa Thero said that arrangements have been made to conduct a series of grand Vesak celebrations on the occasion of Vesak Full-moon Poya Day and the following day this year (May 23 and 25) centering the "Sanchi Mahabodhi Chetiyagiri Vihara" which was built in Sanchi, Madhya Pradesh, India. .
According to the advice of Chief Incumbent of Sanchi Chetiyagiri Viharaya and Chief Sanghanayaka of Japan Most Venerable Banagala Upatissa Thero, arrangements have been made to hold a Buddha Puja with milk-rice for the relics of Load Buddha and Agrasravaka on Vesak day.
Besides a beautiful Vesak procession will also be organized from Sanchi Vandana Niketana to Chethiyagiri Viharaya with the participation of Buddhists and Buddhist monks from Sanchi, Vidisa and Bhopal areas.
Ven. Wimalatissa Thero added that a Buddha Pooja will be held at the shrine for the relics of Load Buddha and relics of Agrasravaka at Chethiyagiri Vihara.
Apart from that, many Dhansalas are held with the support of the local residents for the visiting devotees, Ven. Udugama Tapassi Thero said.
It is significant that all these event will be assisted and consucted for the first time with the active participation of the Buddhists and other people belong to various other religions.
