Consumer Affairs Authority Board including Chairman resigns Featured

The entire Board of Directors of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA), including its Chairman, has tendered their resignations.

According to Trade Minister Nalin Fernando, the 15-member Board, led by Chairman Attorney-at-Law Shantha Niriella has stepped down in response to a directive issued by the ministry.

The resignations come following a notification from the ministry, compelling the Board to vacate their positions. The specific reasons behind the directive remain undisclosed.

However, Minister Fernando confirmed that the appointment of a new Board of Directors is scheduled for Monday, hinting at an imminent restructuring within the organization.
