As per the the new programme, motor vehicle revenue licenses can be obtained from home through the online system.

"People do not need to visit the Provincial Divisional Secretariats. They can obtain their revenue licenses from anywhere in the country," the DMTdisclosed.

This programme will be implemented in all provinces except the Western Province.

The Technology State Ministry and the Information and Communication Technology Association of Sri Lanka will jointly implement the programme.

However, necessary arrangements are being made to extend the programme to all government institutions and to make payments 100 percent through the online system by March next year.
