Tax revenue amounted to Rs. 1.19 trillion as against Rs. 799 billion in 1H of last year. However non-tax revenue was down to Rs. 116 billion from Rs. 120 billion.

Total expenditure and net lending increased to Rs. 2.56 trillion during the period from January-June 2023 compared to Rs. 1.82 trillion in 1H of last year.

The overall Budget deficit during the first half rose to Rs. 1.24 trillion as against Rs. 903 billion a year ago.

During the period from January-June 2023, domestic financing increased to Rs. 1.12 trillion compared to Rs. 947.1 billion in the corresponding period of 2022. Foreign financing amounted to Rs. 120 billion as against net repayment of Rs. 44.4 billion in the first half of last year.
