SL Stalled projects to resume after debt reworking Featured

Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that several halted development projects would resume promptly, on successful completion of the debt restructuring efforts.

He was meeting with Yuan Jiajun, politburo member of the Communist Party of China who called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Saturday (22).

According to the President's Media Division President Wickremesinghe briefed the Chinese delegation on the commendable progress being made in the country’s debt restructuring efforts.

He had noted that the resumption of stalled projects would further bolstering the nation’s economic development.

The President's Media Division said that during the meeting, President Wickremesinghe presented Sri Lanka’s ambitious development plans, with a primary focus on enhancing connectivity with the rest of Asia.

Emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation, the President outlined how these plans would foster economic growth and facilitate increased trade and investment opportunities, said the PMD.
